Your Camino Club journey begins in the coastal town of Imperial Beach, where scenic ocean views guide you along the iconic Silver Strand Highway. From there, head to charming Coronado swinging by the legendary Hotel del Coronado, soaking in beachside vibes and local culture along Orange Avenue. The day wraps up at the Coronado Ferry Landing or hop onboard an optional relaxing ferry ride across San Diego Bay, offering stunning skyline views as you complete the first step of your adventure. This is just the beginning—your journey has only just begun!

Itinerary

  • Welcome to Stage 1 of your Camino Club! Meet your fellow Footbreaker's at the Imperial Beach sign in front of the pier. After a quick introduction and briefing of today's walk we'll begin!

  • Today’s walk will take you through Imperial Beach up the Silver Strand Highway and across Coronado Island.

  • Finish the walk at the Coronado Ferry terminal or hop aboard to catch the ferry to Downtown San Diego.

  • Not quite! While our walks do showcase the stunning sites and landscapes of San Diego, they’re not traditional guided tours. Think of them as experiences designed to challenge you both physically and mentally while immersing you in the beauty of the city. Instead of focusing on narration or history, our main goal is walking across San Diego together, fostering connection and discovery along the way.

    If you're looking for a historical, sightseeing, or food tour, San Diego has plenty of amazing companies to check out—we’d be happy to share recommendations!

  • We will meet at the Imperial Beach Sign located at Seacoast Drive and Evergreen Avenue in Imperial Beach, CA.

    • Carpool - park your car at the finish point and carpool to the starting point

    • Lyft or Uber

    • We recommend parking near our finish point

    • Free parking at Coronado Tidelands Park.

    • If taking the ferry to downtown, there are Ace Parking Lots located next to the Fifth Avenue Landing terminal that charge $40 USD/ day. Pay on site.

    • You can use Parkopedia to find other parking garages and lots that fit your budget.

  • Today's walk will cover ~11 miles from our starting point in Imperial Beach to the ferry landing in Coronado.

  • Yes, our walks will continue rain or shine! Only in the rare case of severe or unsafe weather conditions will we consider postponing or canceling. Otherwise, be prepared to embrace the elements and enjoy the adventure as planned.

  • Today’s walk will be on paved surfaces: bike paths, boardwalks and sidewalks

  • Not at all! Give it your best shot, but if you feel you’ve reached your limit or are pressed for time, you’re welcome to finish early and stop whenever you need to.

  • While we walk as a group, we understand that everyone has their own pace. Our walks are not races, so feel free to move at the speed that’s most comfortable for you. Whether you prefer a brisk pace or a more leisurely stroll, our goal is to ensure everyone enjoys the experience at their own rhythm.

  • We recommend well-worn, comfortable trainers or hiking shoes. To prevent blisters, avoid wearing brand new footwear.

  • Absolutely! It’s not a race—everyone has their own pace, and we encourage you to stop and rest whenever you need to. Plus, we’ll plan rest stops along the way for snacks, restrooms, and a chance to take in the beautiful surroundings. After all, we’re Footbreaks—it’s in the name!

  • Our walks are open to adults aged 18 and over.

  • We love our furry friends, but unfortunately, this walk isn’t pet-friendly due to the restrictions along the route. However, we’re just as excited as you are about the idea of dog-friendly walks and hope to organize them in the future—so stay tuned! If you have a service animal please get in touch!
