Description

Today’s walk begins in the historic heart of San Diego—Old Town. From there, we’ll make our way to Liberty Station, a lively hub of eateries, boutiques, and art spaces set within a former naval base. As we continue along the Point Loma marina, coastal breezes and views of fishing boats guide us toward Sunset Cliffs, where the ocean’s beauty unfolds.

Our walk winds through Ocean Beach, a neighborhood rich with bohemian charm and surf culture. Finally, we’ll finish at the tranquil shores of Mission Bay, the perfect spot to relax and reflect on the day’s journey.

Itinerary

  • Welcome to Stage 3 of your Camino Club! Meet your fellow Footbreaker's at the public parking lot “C” at Twiggs & Juan St in Old Town. After a quick introduction and briefing of today's walk we'll begin!

  • Today’s walk will begin in Old Town an cut through the Sports Arena area towards Liberty Station. From there, we’ll enjoy the Point Loma Marina before heading up and over to Sunset Cliffs. We’ll then cut through Ocean Beach before finishing our day in Mission Bay.

  • Today’s walk will finish at Sunset Point Park in Mission Bay.

  • Not quite! While our walks do showcase the stunning sites and landscapes of San Diego, they’re not traditional guided tours. Think of them as experiences designed to challenge you both physically and mentally while immersing you in the beauty of the city. Instead of focusing on narration or history, our main goal is walking across San Diego together, fostering connection and discovery along the way.

    If you're looking for a historical, sightseeing, or food tour, San Diego has plenty of amazing companies to check out—we’d be happy to share recommendations!

  • We will meet at the public parking lot at Twiggs & Juan Street in Old Town.

  • Today's walk will cover ~10 miles from Old Town and finishing in Mission Beach

  • Yes, our walks will continue rain or shine! Only in the rare case of severe or unsafe weather conditions will we consider postponing or canceling. Otherwise, be prepared to embrace the elements and enjoy the adventure as planned.

  • Todays walk is mostly flat on paved surfaces: sidewalks, boardwalks and bike paths. There is a steady incline walking out of Point Loma and over to Sunset Cliffs.

  • Not at all! Give it your best shot, but if you feel you’ve reached your limit or are pressed for time, you’re welcome to finish early and stop whenever you need to.

  • While we walk as a group, we understand that everyone has their own pace. Our walks are not races, so feel free to move at the speed that’s most comfortable for you. Whether you prefer a brisk pace or a more leisurely stroll, our goal is to ensure everyone enjoys the experience at their own rhythm.

  • We recommend well-worn, comfortable trainers or hiking shoes. To prevent blisters, avoid wearing brand new footwear.

  • Absolutely! It’s not a race—everyone has their own pace, and we encourage you to stop and rest whenever you need to. Plus, we’ll plan rest stops along the way for snacks, restrooms, and a chance to take in the beautiful surroundings. After all, we’re Footbreaks—it’s in the name!

  • Our walks are open to adults aged 18 and over.

  • We love our furry friends, but unfortunately, this walk isn’t pet-friendly due to the restrictions along the route. However, we’re just as excited as you are about the idea of dog-friendly walks and hope to organize them in the future—so stay tuned! If you have a service animal please get in touch!
